Has anyone used photo dynamic therapy for acne treatment?

This was suggested with other topical and wash treatments to get rid of my acne caused by long term steroid usage (yay brain cancer). Any how insurance won’t cover the treatment as it’s technically cosmetic. They say it takes 2 to 3 treatments at 2 to 3 weeks apart for a cost of $350 each treatment. I’m wondering if anyone has any peronsal experience with this and if it’s really worth the cost.

As a rule, three treatments work well for PDT treatment and acne. However, I have no experience using PDT for steroidal induced acne, which is a bit different from the normal acne vulgaris. Perhaps your dermatologist has experience in doing so. Ask him specifically if he feels it will work in your particular case, and if he has any past luck in using it in steroid-induced acne.
