gluten doesn’t cause acne. I have been eating gluten free for 10 months and had absolutely no change on my hormonal acne, however I no longer am bloated, even though I went back to eating regular foods again.
I tried physician’s formula, it wasn’t a good match for my skin (I have uber picky skin). I found out that the problem with the Everyday Minerals (bismuth free) was the brush I was using. I was using an ELF brush made of goat hair and it was too coarse and irritating my skin. I switched to an EcoTools brush that is synthetic hair and it is so soft and gentle. It’s also cruelty and environmentally friendly.
I’m so happy to know women are starting to realize the bismuth situation. It caused me to break out horribly:( I would check the ingredients. Maybe you are allergic to Mica or they are not listing a certain ingredient. Try the physicians formula mineral wear:)
I know that pur minerals contains bismuth oxychloride and that it can be a big irritant for lots of women…but for some reason it’s not bothering me. EDM didn’t contain bismuth oxychloride and it was so terribible for me. Tell me how your new foundation works for you!
I checked out Pur Minerals, they contain Bismuth. I found a makeup called Real Purity Healthy Glow Creme Foundation, & it only contains: Distilled Water, Glycerin, Clay, Rice Bran Oil and Iron Oxides. It’s bismuth-free, titanium dioxide free, zinc oxide free, and mica free. I ordered a sample size & should receive it sometime next week. Fingers crossed. If I still have problems then we know that either I’m allergic to iron oxides (which is in all mineral makeup) or it is actually my hormones.
There’s a starter kit at pur minerals for $35 and it comes with the brush, foundation/concealor, bronzer and an illumanating blush. It’s a great deal to see if it works for you. The pressed minerals last for a long time. Also, their lipstick is my favorite…it contains
shea butter and goes on sheer like a nourishing tinted balm. It’s my favorite!
Isn’t it frustrating!! Everyday Minerals was supposed to be as natural as mineral make-up gets! I emailed them and they said they were suprised by my breakout…but lots of ladies on youtube have experienced breakouts from EDM. They have awesome brushes though!
Pur minerals is expensive and I use the pressed foundation…..but for some reason it’s working for me. The chisel brush it comes with is really prickly….but it works. It’s strange
I’m Kira, the one who posed the question to Fran. The makeup that I am using right now is actually Everyday Minerals. The first one was Femme Couture from Sally’s beauty and it had the Bismuth, which is known to cause breakouts and irritation, so I researched out bismuth free and came across Everyday Minerals, but yea as Fran said in the vlog, I’m breaking out again. Maybe I’ll try Pur at some point.
Are you going into a cold season? We are finally getting warm/hot weather up here in Minnesota and I noticed you are wearing a sweater. Do you get snow in the winter? Aren’t your seasons down there opposite of us in the Northern hemisphere? We get LOTS of snow here during the winter and sub-zero temps sometime….but our summers are very hot and humid.
Also, I read that how the minerals are milled can make a big difference with breakouts. Powders that aren’t finely milled can actually look jagged under the microscope and this can irritate skin and cause breakouts.
I’ve had the same problems with mineral make-up. I’m 37, never had acne issues and all of a sudden got terrible deep acne on my cheeks! I figured out it was the “all natural” everydayminerals that was doing it. I ordered Proactiv (I know you don’t like it ) and it cleared my skin. But , now I actually have some scarring from this terrible 2 month breakout! I now use Pur minerals and my skin seems just fine with it.
