Makeup and Whiteheads! What is the link between them? Do you still wonder what makeup mistakes aggravate acne, whiteheads or blackheads?

Here Are Top 2 Makeup Mistakes That Can Cause Whiteheads And Blackheads:

1.    Trying to Mask Your Skin Blemishes With Powder.

I always get surprised when I see people who are trying to mask their skin issues with powder or other make-up remedies. I don’t understand them. Do they really believe that they have found real solution for the problem by doing that? The only truth is that those skin blemishes (acne, small pimples, whiteheads and blackheads will remain on the skin unless you treat them both from inside and out).

In this way, they only worsen their condition by clogging more and more skin pores with powder.

2.    Not Cleansing Face before Applying Any Make-Up Remedy.

Especially if you are acne sufferer you should have special acne cleansing wash remedy and tonic in your cosmetic bag for daily use. I hope you understand that those whiteheads and blackheads sometimes may occur just due to dirt, dust and excessive sebum that clog skin pores after a while.

So never put on makeup without thoroughly cleansing your skin!

I hope you will never repeat anymore the above-mentioned makeup mistakes that cause acne, whiteheads and blackheads. Treat your skin professionally in any case, no matter you are applying beauty remedy or whitehead treatment product on it

What You Need to Know About How to Remove Blackheads

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Are you someone who has been dealing with skin problems for years? When you are in a place where you are thinking about how to remove blackheads, you will find that there are a number of tips and tricks that you need to be aware of, so stay on top of things!
If you are ready to figure out how to remove blackheads, you will find that you are not alone. This common skin condition is one that troubles many people, both men and women, and because they can be worsened through hormonal changes, they can strike you at any point in your life.
Much like acne, you will find that taking care of blackheads can be something that you can work on easily and naturally, so take a moment to see what your options are. There are some interesting ways to remove skin blemishes in general, and when you are thinking about how to remove blackheads, there are a number of things to keep in mind.
First, when you want to learn how to remove blackheads, remember that blackheads are essentially the accumulation of debris and dead skin in your pores. The dark matter is due to the dirt that can get trapped in your pores and this can go a long way towards making your face look a lot dirtier and grimier than it really is. What can you do combat blackheads and what can you do to make sure that they do not return? Remember that establishing a routine that you stick to is quite important.
When you are looking to prevent blackheads, make sure that you take good care of your face. This means taking the time to gently wash it daily and it also means avoiding using heavy creams or lotions on it, which can clog your pores. Also remember that if you wear makeup, you should remove it every day before you sleep. This will stop it from settling in your pores and it will keep you from having issues with acne as well.
Perhaps one of the most effective ways to deal with blackheads is to squeeze them out. Before you do this, however, you need to remember that you should be gentle. Start by making sure that your face is clean and dry; ideally you should use a mild scrub to remove any dead cells.
Then, after your face is dry, use a warm compress on your face for fifteen minutes or so. After you pat your skin dry, you can use a piece of tissue on either side of your fingernails to squeeze the blackhead out. Remember that you are trying to squeeze the blackhead out from the bottom.
While this is effective, take care to make sure that you do not tear the skin or cause scarring. This is something that can actually send you all the way back to square one, and at the end of the day, you are looking to improve your skin conditions. This means that you should not try to squeeze a particular blackhead out more than once or twice.

Everything You Need To Know About Laser Skin Treatment For Acne Scars

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Laser treatment is a very popular procedure that many use for removing skin defects as acne scars. The laser simply burns the skin very precisely to a specific depth. Afterwards, the skin heals itself being thus forced to regenerate. So far so good, laser skin treatment for acne scars really works. The hard part is that the post intervention period is critical to the success of the procedure. The problem is that this period can last up to one year.
One of the most popular laser types are the CO2(carbon dioxide) or the YAG (erbium). It has been successfully used for years in the laser skin treatment for acne scars. In order to chosse the right treatment method for your problem a specialist must be consulted, and he / she will decide if you are able to undergo the intervention, given the fact that it takes a very healthy body system to help you recover from a skin treatment with no marks left.
So after checking the medical file a doctor can usually decide if the patient can resist successfully during the intervention or not. Laser skin treatment for acne scars needs to be adapted to the type of scars you’ve got. In 2001 a classification for acne scars was made because it could be very useful in determining the right treatment. So the scars are classified in three branches: ice-pick, rolling and boxcar, depending of the scar aspect.
There are many people who have facial scars from acne or different injuries, and for them, laser therapy is the best option. Laser and IPL (intense pulse light) skin treatments for acne scars provide an efficient remedy against almost any type of scars. Both laser and IPL use an intense ray of light burning the affected area. The treated area will recover naturally, so the procedure practically forces the body to heal an injury.
The good part is that the recovered skin will look much more natural than the scar before; in many situations the success was 100%. The old scar was simply gone. This proves the efficiency of laser skin treatments for acne scars. Following the intervention the skin will be reddish and this persistent color will probably last for more than several weeks.
During the recovery interval, after a laser skin treatment for acne scars you must be cautious not to get exposed to sun light or other irritating factors. After the first several weeks when the injury is loosing its redness you will still need to be careful for some 10 to 12 months. The doctor may also suggest further therapy into the second year too.

What To Know About Laser Acne Scar Treatment Costs?

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Laser therapy has become one of the most effective ways to fight against acne scars over the past decade. More and more people choose this option to get rid of acne scars. However the big issue that appears is the laser acne scar treatment cost. How much money is such a medical intervention and who can afford it? How much money is such a medical intervention and who can afford it? The cost entirely depends on how severe your acne scars are and on the part of the body that has suffered the greatest damage.
Another factor that influences the laser acne scar treatment cost is the clinic and the type of service they provide for such dermatological problems. Laser treatment is recommended according to the type of acne scars you’ve got, and it is only for a specialist to decide which kind of intervention best suits you. Some of the most widely treated acne scars are the Ice-pick type and the Boxcar type. The former makes the skin look as if it were punctured with an ice-pick. Unfortunately these are the most difficult and the most expensive to treat.
The ice-pick acne scars are usually very narrow on the skin surface, but go deep in the derma. For such a case normal laser resurfacing is not effective. A more in-depth intervention is required, and the laser acne scar treatment cost will obviously be higher. However, you will be given an estimation of the costs, once you go to your doctor for a consultation. The boxcar type of acne scars are round or oval small depressions with vertical edges. These too require special attention, as normal laser therapy doesn’t work for them either.
Consequently, the laser acne scar treatment cost is proportional with the complexity of the medical procedure you need to undergo. For instance, one highly effective laser treatment is the one that uses the Smoothbeam for atrophic acne scars. This type of laser beam targets the second layer of skin and makes a small, superficial injury in the scar area, that determines the body to react and initiate the formation of new collagen that will fill the scar or lift the indented area. Results are remarkable, and though the cost of this acne scar treatment is a bit higher, it is worth every penny, as the results are incredible.

Acne Scar Treatment – 6 Types you Must Know

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Acne is a skin problem typically occurred as a result of clogging up skin pores by dead cells mixed with skin oils. Acne scars are typically categorized under three heads, as described by Jacob et al (2001). According to this categorization system, icepick, rolling and boxcar are the three types of acne scars prevalent worldwide. Icepick is the type of acne scar that refers to as a sharp narrow scar resembling like punctured with an icepick. This type of scar is narrower than 2mm and is lengthened through the deep dermis or subcutaneous layer.

Icepicks can not be cured with regular skin resurfacing treatments such as laser resurfacing or dermabrasion as because they are so deep down through the skin. Rolling scars are typically occurred on the subcutaneous tissues below normal appearing skin. These types of scars can be treated by rupturing up the subcutaneous fibrous bands. The third category on the list is boxcar scar which is generally found on the skin as a round to oval depression along with sharp vertical edges. This article sheds light on various segments associated with the acne scar treatment and its usages.

In practice, there are several methodologies that can be used as a mode for acne scar treatment; however, you need to be selective by analyzing its probable risks and benefits. In some cases, doctors and dermatologists prefer to recommend a combination of treatment, rather than using any single acne scar treatment. Let us explore few effective acne scar treatment procedures. Dermal Fillers

There is a wide range of dermal fillers that can be recommended by dermatologists ensuring to provide a smoother look on the skin. It is injected on the skin to make the surface raised. Typically, human collagen, polytheyl-methacrylate micropsheres with collagen, bovine collagen, hyaluronic acid derivatives and fat are used as dermal fillers. However, these fillers do not offer any permanent solution, hence further injection is necessary. Laser Resurfacing

Many skin problems get cured by laser surfacing. Two types of laser surfacing are commonly used – carbon dioxide and erbium: YAG. It follows the mechanism of skin burning of outer skin layer to a specific depth. The healing process is followed with a restructuring of skin texture using newer appearing skin. The post-operative phase matters a lot for ensuring the actual success of the surgery. Punch Excision

It is essentially used in boxcar and icepick types of acne scar treatment. A punch biopsy tool is used as according to the size of the scars. Scars are expunged with the help of the punch tool and the open skin edges are stitched up together. This newly developed scar however fades in time. Skin Graft Treatment

This is an extended part of punch excision, a type of acne scar treatment. In this method, open skin edges are not stitched up rather the scar area is grafted with skin taken from the back of the ear. At the post-operative phase, variation in color and texture may be noticeable; however, it can be corrected successfully using laser resurfacing technique. Punch Elevation

In this method, a punch biopsy tool is used to remove the base of the scars. After removing, the punch tool is used to elevate the base and to attach it to the surface area of the skin. This acne scar treatment is beneficial in terms of reducing the risk of getting skin in different color or texture. Subcutaneous Incision

This method is particularly useful for treating rolling scars. It works by breaking the fibrous band which is responsible for developing rolling scars. The process is done using a beveled needle below the skin. It is kept parallel to the skin surface and then the needle gently cuts tethering bands. There are mainly two apparent risks associated with this procedure. One is bleeding and the other one is development of subcutaneous nodules. However the possibility of risks can be minimized with appropriate medications.

Get Out Of The Dark! All You Need To Know About Acne Scar Treatments.

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

We’ve all probably had it at one time or another – acne. Unfortunately, even after the breakouts stop the remnants remain. Thanks to research and technology, there are quite a few acne scar treatment options available to reduce and even remove acne scars away.
Treating acne scars can be quite costly depending on what type of acne scar treatment is recommended for you by your dermatologist. For old acne scars that resulted from a more severe case of acne, several acne scar treatments or a combination thereof, may be required to get the desired results. A professional dermatologist is the most knowledgeable about what types of acne scar treatments are best, and can make suggestion on how to get rid of those acne scars forever.
Most acne scar treatments require clear skin before treatment begins, so this is the first issue that must be addressed. If you haven’t done it already, make an appointment with your dermatologist to get started. Every person must be evaluated individually and treated on a case by case basis, and what works for one may not work for another.
Antibiotics and acne crèmes are most commonly prescribed first to clear the skin and prevent further breakouts. Once skin has healed acne scar treatment can begin. Some common acne scar treatments are lazar removal and dermabrasion, which are quite useful for removal of low scars.
For mild cases a chemical peel may be all that is needed. Deeper acne scars may require punch techniques first, and then laser treatments. Most cases will require one or more treatments, or a combination of treatments to achieve the desired results. Most acne scar treatments can be performed quickly and with least discomfort right in the office.
Most acne scar treatments are not covered by health insurance plans, and can be quite costly if more than a couple of treatments are needed, which is the case in more instances than not. Less expensive acne scar treatments can always be tried first, especially if the scars are not too severe. Check with your dermatologist’s office for prices of various procedures recommended, and also check online for more in depth information on acne scar treatments.
Visit http://www.acne.org for a description of various procedures, and visit chat forum for discussion on experiences of others that have undergone various types of acne scar treatments as well. This is a good place to start, and make an appointment with your dermatologist to discuss what the best treatment option for you is.
