I am 21 years old and have had acne since I was 11 years old. I am getting married Dec.21, 2008 and I really need something to cure my acne. Any suggestions?

Chemical peels for acne scars: Acidic solutions are applied to the skin to peel away the damaged layers and the new skin that is formed is usually smoother. Chemical peels range from mild to deep penetration. Though chemical peels can be applied at home, it would be advisable to get a dermatologist to apply it. Punch grafts: More suitable for deep and pitted acne scars, this method involves punching a hole to remove the scar and then removing a small piece of undamaged skin – usually from the area behind the ear – and using it to replace the damaged skin. Acne scarring that has left you with discoloration of the skin is the easiest to treat and can be treated with over the counter lotion or gels. When you and your dermatologist determine that you have discoloration you will then be able to discuss the kind of lotion or gels that are available and the one that are the safest because you already have a problem that is understandably very hard on a person self esteem and you do not want to use a product that may cause you to have some other kind of problem.
Acne scarring may look like it has left you with unsightly scarring that you will have to deal with for a lifetime. But you should not be disheartened because there are plenty of treatments from surgery to lotions so that you can have beautiful, clear skin that you will love and can be proud of.

i’ve had the same acne scars for about 7-8 months & im using a medication but it is really not helping. have they become permanent?

Many people have acne scars that disappear after a few months. . . but I’m paranoid that my will be permanent. . . There is no way of knowing whether it is permanent or not, just wait: I know that acne itself will disappear, the scars that worries me.
