At Last! Treatment For Acne Scars Revealed

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

Acne is one of the most embarrassing conditions because it occurs on your face and you can’t cover it up like you can a rash that may be on your leg or arm. It is bad enough to develop acne when you are a teenager or an adult. It is even worse when those breakouts leave glaring scars on your face.
There Is Surgical Treatment For Acne Scars
Seeking surgery as a treatment for acne scars is one option. A surgeon can perform punch grafting on your skin to remove the scaring left from adolescent breakouts. Another surgical option is scar excisions.
As with any surgical procedure, both of these treatments for acne scars are invasive and should only be performed after careful consideration of the pain, cost, and risk involved. If you determine that a surgical treatment for acne scars is the path you want to take, do your homework and find a plastic surgeon with a good reputation and fantastic recommendations. The obvious downside to having surgery are obviously the costs and risks associated with it.
What About Chemical Treatment For Acne Scars?
Many dermatologists and plastic surgeons perform chemical peels as an outpatient procedure. Most people have this procedure done to refresh their skin and remove the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but it has also been found to help reduce the affects of acne scars.
The process is rather simple. Acid is carefully applied to the uppermost layers of your skin. The idea is for the doctor to burn your top layers of skin in a controlled manner. The top layers are lifted away, leaving the fresh and glowing lower layers. When the damaged layers are removed, the appearance of acne scars is drastically reduced.
As a treatment for acne scars, it is much more affordable than plastic surgery, but it is still an uncomfortable process to experience. Some people react badly to the acidic chemicals used for the procedure and others just don’t like the idea of burning their skin. If you decide to have a chemical peel as a treatment for acne scars, have it administered by a qualified doctor. Never have this procedure done at a spa or non medical facility.
Home Treatment For Acne Scars
If surgery or a chemical peel isn’t in your budget or your plans, you might want to try a few home remedies to alleviate your acne scars. Moisturizing your skin can help to plump it up and that can help lessen the appearance of acne scars. Applying a vitamin C serum can also help to lighten acne scars.
You should try the natural methods of getting rid of acne scars before you undergo surgery or use chemicals. If surgery is necessary, however, go ahead with it, but just understand the costs and risks involved. Either way scars caused by acne are embarrassing and if you are sick of looking at them in the mirror you need to do whatever you can to look and feel like you again.

The Best Treatment For Blackheads – The Most Powerful Tips Revealed

What is acne?

Acne is best described as a skin condition that commonly occurs due to the overproduction of oil by the oil glands of the skin.

This skin condition is mostly found in younger individuals between the ages of twelve to eighteen years of age, but is not limited to any age group.

There are many different types of products out there to cure acne. However, products that focus on natural elements are often said to be safer and better in the long run to fight acne. A blockage of pores and hair follicles by an overproduction of oils from the skin, is the main reason that people get acne.

A persons diet can closely be related how much overproduction of oils will develop in their bodies. Studies have shown that the diets of acne sufferers have more oily foods in their diet, than those without.

Facial and body skin conditions are the top two types of problems that these individuals face. A multiplication of oil secretions can grow to an excessive amount, when the pores are blocked causing massive bacteria to accumulate.

When an area of the skin on a persons body is too blocked, the skin becomes inflamed, thus causing a rash to appear. Body parts that are infected when a rash occurs are usually but not limited to: the arms, higher back, chest, and face.

To gradually stop and prevent acne from re-occurring the best method is to use a natural cure that has an element antioxidants in it. If antioxidants are consistently infused with acne in the right manner, there more the rashes will become less and less visible on the skin. But if these rashes continue to go untreated, they may form into pus-like bumps and red lesions that spread throughout ones skin.

Even after these bumps and rashes are treated and begin to dissipate, there may be a chance that scarring shows, where the acne used to be.

To lessen the appearance of acne scars a good product to use is Acnezine. There is not exact time limit on how long a acnezine or other natural products will take to clear the scarring and leftover acne after its first application.

However, individuals who use natural methods have said to see an improvement of their condition, within the first three days of proper use. Acne is a worldwide skin condition and is not limited to any region of the world, whether the weather it is hot or cold.

3 Popular Acne Myths – Truth Revealed!

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

No one likes it, but almost everyone will experience it. For some people, it is a constant source of embarrassment and even low-self esteem. What is it? Acne!
Acne pimples appear on the face, neck, and body and are usually small red bumps although for some people these bumps can become cysts. Acne also tends to afflict everyone, to some degree, regardless of race or gender. Usually appearing in adolescence, it is almost an accepted rite of passage into adulthood because it is so common among teenagers. Acne is caused by increased hormonal activity within the skin’s oil glands or the sebaceous glands. The extra secretions of oil, combined with dead skin cells and surface dirt, leads to clogged pores and outbreaks of lesions, which we call pimples, blemishes or acne. Acne commonly occurs in the neck, face, back, shoulders and chest because the body’s sebaceous glands are more densely distributed here.
So What Determines The Extent and Severity Of Each Case Of Acne?
There are many factors which contribute to acne. For example, there are hereditary components which affect the severity of an individual’s acne. Simply put, if you have a parent who has suffered from a severe case of acne, the chances that you will also have severe acne are increased. But there are also dietary and sociological factors that contribute to the development of acne, which if changed or eliminated, may prevent an outbreak of severe acne. Because of the many contributing factors, acne myths have proliferated over the years.
Three Acne Myths.
Acne Myth Number 1
Scrubbing and washing the face often will prevent acne. While dirt may contribute to the formation of blackheads leading to pimples, many people believe that washing your face three or more times a day, or hard scrubbing of the face and skin can prevent acne. Face washing should be done gently, using a mild facial scrub or exfoliant only twice a day. Frequent washing can actually irritate acne breakouts and it strips the skin of its natural oils. This not only makes the skin dry, but can lead to the sebaceous glands increasing oil production to protect the skin surface. Also, scrubbing can cause inflammations. Gentle cleansing, using the lightest possible touch, is best for all-round skin protection.
Acne Myth Number 2
Fried food, overeating, and chocolate, causes acne to develop. Diets heavy in fat do have an effect on the body’s sebaceous glands, but science has shown that moderate consumption of fried foods will not cause acne to get worse. In fact, some oils are necessary for the healthy maintenance of the human body and the “acid mantle” that keeps skin moist and supple. In addition, a seeming connection between certain foods such as chocolate and acne may be due to food allergy rather than to the food itself. The notion that any particular food always causes acne is quite false, though.
Acne Myth Number 3
Daily stress will cause breakouts of acne. Routine, daily stress is not considered to be a cause of acne. Severe stress has been shown to have detrimental effects upon many of the body’s systems but its connection to acne breakouts has not been clearly established. More research is needed in this area before anything conclusive can be formulated. One caveat, though, stress medications may have a side-effect of contributing to acne, but if so, this should be discussed with a physician as an alternative medication may not have this effect. In general though, stress is a normal part of life and is not regarded as a major contributor to acne.
