How do I get rid of these acne and acne scars on my cheek!?

Monday, December 13th, 2010

During the summer my cheek started breaking out and i was an idiot and started picking at them so now i have a bunch of acne scars on my cheeks. Is there a way I can get rid of them!?

How do you get rid of these particular acne scars and blemishes?

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

Okay, foolishly I did not listen to advice when I was a young acne-prone girl and went ahead to pick at my facial pimples because I could not stand them. Unfortunately, as a consequence I have gotten numerous acne scars and blemishes (dark circular pigmentation-little brown spots along my chin and cheeks [they are not raised, my skin is otherwise smooth save for the discoloration], I have a relatively tan complexion). Is there any way to get rid of them, or at least make them appear less noticeable(preferably a relatively cheap, at home-convenient solution, or am I doomed to working towards the day until I can afford a medical/laser treatment?)
I’ve heard of chemical peels, mederma, scarzone…do those really work-especially since my skin problem is obviously affected by something deeper then the superficial layers of my epidermis?
All suggestions welcome!

The Best Acne Treatments – Look for These Things in an Acne Treatment for Great Results

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

One of the most frustrating things about having acne is trying treatment after treatment with no results. You begin to wonder if you will ever have clear skin again. The problem is that you may not be purchasing treatments with the right ingredients. Sure, many treatments proclaim to eliminate acne overnight. The problem is that most of these treatments don’t deliver what they promise to. It’s time to find something that really works. If you are in search of the best acne treatments, look for these things in an acne treatment to get great results.

Salicylic Acid

When you are looking for the best acne treatments, look for options that have salicylic acid in them. This is one of the best ingredients you’ll find in treatment products. It helps to exfoliate your skin of dead skin cells, which can clog up pores and cause acne. Another benefit is that it helps to reduce inflammation of the skin as well. There are gels, creams, pads, washes, and lotions that contain this ingredient and it is one of the most well known and effective ingredients to use if you want wonderful results and beautiful skin.

Benzoyl Peroxide

Yet another ingredient that you should look for in the best acne treatments is benzoyl peroxide. This ingredient is found in many treatments and is extremely effective. It works by helping to kill the bacteria that can cause acne to occur. It also helps to cleanse the skin and remove dead skin cells. You use these products topically, but you don’t want to overuse them or it could lead to very dry skin problems. There are some products that combine benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid together, and these products can be very effective for acne treatment as well.

Retin-A

As you are looking for great treatments for your acne, look for products that have Retin-A in them, which is another ingredient that is very helpful when working to eliminate acne. It helps to get your acne under control and can also help to keep new acne outbreaks from occurring as well. This happens to be a derivative of Vitamin A. However, usually you will need to have a prescription to get this type of a treatment. It can be very drying to skin, so do not use more than recommended by your doctor.

If your acne treatment isn’t working, chances are that your treatment doesn’t have the right ingredients in it. Stop dealing with all that frustration and begin looking for products that contain ingredients that really work. Look for products that contain these ingredients and you’ll have the best acne treatments that finally give you the relief from acne that you have been look for so long.

why do these acne scars flare up when my skin gets irritated?

Sunday, October 17th, 2010

I have had moderate acne that has recently settled down after I started taking Epiduo. While my skin is noticeably clearer, i still have little red dots where my acne once was. I was told these were scars, and eventually they started to go away. However, sometimes (because of allergies, dry skin, sunburn, etc.) my face will become itchy, red and these scars will flare up. What is causing this and how can I get rid of it?

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

If you have a history of acne outbreaks on your face, you should know that it is very important to develop an acne scar skin care program.  Even after the acne has gone away, many acne sufferers find that unsightly acne scars can still keep them from having the face they have always wanted.

Luckily, there are many methods that you can use to care for skin with acne scars, ranging from home treatment methods to dermatological surgery.  Let’s talk about home treatment first, since you should always try these inexpensive, easy methods before deciding on surgical procedures.Good old ice cubesThere is no simpler way to perform acne scar skin care at home than by rubbing ice cubes on your skin.  You should try this idea first, since everyone has ice cubes in their freezer, and you will not have to make any kind of monetary investment to see if this works for you.  You can do this for a short amount of time, probably fifteen minutes or so.  Simply rub the ice cubes over the affected areas, focusing on your acne scars.  Do this without wrapping the ice cubes in anything; you want to rub the ice cubes directly on your skin.  This method tightens up the pores in your skin, helping to reduce the look of acne scars.Try a sandalwood natural treatmentAs a person with acne scars, you probably are not happy with the enlarged pores that they cause on your face.  To help regenerate the pores and decrease their appearance, try using sandalwood as a natural alternative to over the counter products.  It’s an affordable substance that can help with the appearance of acne scars.  Just apply it to the areas with acne scars, and make sure to leave it on your face as you sleep.  Do this regularly, making sure to wash it away when you awake, and you will see the improvements.Professional treatment optionsOnce you have tried these types of methods, you can give dermatological surgery a shot, if home acne skin care treatments aren’t giving you the progress you need.  The surgical procedures can include those such as collagen injections or laser treatments, and they vary widely in cost and potential benefits.

That’s why you will want to consult with a dermatologist as you move forward towards that kind of treatment.  They can give you the information and guidance you need to eliminate the embarrassment from acne scars forever!

The first way is by use of a blackhead removal tool These are long slender metal sticks, with a hole on the end. They are shaped so that the hole in the end will go around the blackhead, and make it easy to pull out. This is the quickest, but it’s also the most dangerous. Not life threateningly dangerous, but dangerous in that if you get an infection, you could have a scar there forever. So it’s important to cleans the area immediately afterwards, and use some antibiotics to keep it from getting infected.

Another way to get rid of blackheads is to use a face mask. Thee are creams that you apply, and form masks that attach to the blackheads themselves. While this is a bit less harsh on the skin that poking yourself with a metal stick, the dangers of infection still exist, so please be careful.

Got Acne Scars – Tired Of Hiding Your Face – Try These Acne Cure Solutions

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

The development of acne and the scars left by it even after the condition ceases are both equally awkward. The worst part of acne is that if occurs on the face which is the most visible part of the body. These can be a major cause of embarrassment and depression especially if one values one’s appearance and looks. One might just get tired of hiding one’s acned or acne-scarred face. Trying out some common acne cure solutions may help check the inflammatory condition and also provide some cosmetic cure from the characteristic acne scars.
For scarring, cystic acne an aggressive conventional treatment using the drug Isotretinoin is recommended. This is, however, not to be used in case of pregnant women. Administration of antibiotics is usually recommended by physicians to cure acne. However, these are to be used in accompaniment with probiotics. The probiotics work towards restoring the useful bacteria which may be destroyed by the antibiotics while getting rid of the harmful bacteria. Topical medicines like Azelic acid or Benzoyl peroxide can be applied to heal up acne externally and eliminate marks.
Alternatively, the natural solutions- safe, non-irritating options promise to at least diminish (if not completely remove) the scars blackheads etc. associated with acne. Formulations containing herbal extracts- creams, lotions, face-packs etc. are available which usually aim at controlling excessive oiliness and making the complexion smooth while getting rid of blemishes and marks (scars). Natural exfoliating masks may be used which will remove the blockages of the pores in the skin and control oiliness and acne. These also help tighten up the skin and remove the acne marks. The household remedies like dabbing of lemon juice or juice of some other suitable fruit like cucumber tomato, avocado, apricot etc. with the help of cotton wool pads or as a mask on the affected area of the face will lighten out acne scars. This however, needs to be done regularly for some weeks. These will have the effects of cleansing, toning, moisturizing and nourishing of the skin while removing scars in the process.
The scars may be deep and quite stubborn too. In such case dermatological procedures are to be chosen. Laser resurfacing has come up in recent times which can help provide quick reduction in the number of acne spots. This is no ‘acne cure’ though. However, its effects last up to 3 months. This is safe and does not require long term antibiotic therapy. Small scars can be treated with dermabrasion involving abrasion of the top layers of the skin. Collagen injections may also be used for this purpose. For removing deep scars punch grafts or chemical peels are the best options.
